The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has announced that it has asked Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to block more overseas gambling websites while asking Aussies to withdraw their money and services from the websites that will be blocked shortly.
The overseas gambling websites include:
- Syndicate Casino
- 7 bit casino
- Casino Nic
- Fast Pay Casino
- King Billy Casino
- Woo Casino
- Loki Casino
- Golden Star Casino
- Joo Casino
- Betting chain
- Get Slots
- Joka VIP room
- King Johnnie
- Wild Card City
The blockage came after the ACMA received numerous complaints. Investigations were then conducted that were found to violate the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
The ACMA has stated that blocking websites is one of several enforcement options it is taking to protect Australians from illegal online gambling. A total of 222 illegal gambling websites have been blocked since ACMA first filed for a ban in November 2019.
Since the new Interactive Gambling Act came into effect in 2001, more than 100 illegal services have withdrawn from the Australian market since ACMA began enforcing new illegal offshore gambling regulations in 2017.
If you use or save money on these websites, the ACMA Australian is asking you to remove your money and close your accounts ASAP.
You can also find more information about online gambling on the ACMA website, including a registry of licensed interactive betting services that you can use to review legal services in Australia and file a complaint about an illegal website.
