Make the French toast according to the recipe instructions. I love using French bread or homemade sourdough bread for my French toast. The thicker, stronger bread gives it the best texture!

For the caramelized apples and blueberries, start with a little butter. Once it's melted, add the honey and stir to combine.

Next, add your apples and let them sit in the honey mixture for 5-7 minutes until they are brown and caramelized on one side. Gently turn the apples over and cook for another 10 minutes. During the cooking process, their juices combine with the honey to create a delicious sauce and prevent the honey from burning. Add the blueberries during the last 5 minutes of cooking.

Top the French toast with the apple and blueberry mixture. Enjoy!

French toast with caramelized apple, blueberries and syrup

  • 4th large egg
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 8th disc french bread

Fruit topping

  • 4th tablespoon Butter, unsalted
  • 1/2 Cup honey
  • 1 large Apple diced
  • 1 Cup Blueberries
  • 1/4 Cup dried cranberries
  • Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl.

  • Heat a large pan over medium heat. Spray with cooking spray. Dip a slice of bread into the egg mixture at a time. Cook each slice of bread until golden brown, 2-3 minutes per side.

Fruit topping

  • Melt the butter in a pan. After melting, add honey to the pan and stir.
