Google permits gambling apps within the Play Retailer

Google Play enables gambling apps.

Android users in the US will soon have access to betting and gambling apps via the Play Store, Google announced on Thursday. Starting March 1, certain states will allow online casino games, sports betting, lotteries, and daily fantasy sports apps.

Please visit the Google support website for a full list of the types of gambling apps allowed in each state.

"We allow real money gambling apps, ads related to real money gambling and daily fantasy sports apps that meet certain requirements," says Google's support page.

To be eligible, app makers must complete a gambling application form, comply with the laws of the states and countries in which the app will be used, and have a valid gambling license for each state or country in which they wish to operate. These apps must be adult-only and approved to display responsible gambling information.

Apps must also ensure that minors cannot use the app. The app cannot be a paid app on Google Play or use Google Play in-app billing.

Gambling and betting apps are also available in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
