MGM Springfield Casino Resorts announced that it will be reopening its hotel and TAP Sports Bar to the public on March 5, according to the casino’s spokesperson.

The hotel will reopen in a limited capacity and only to select casino guests for the immediate future. TAP Sports Bar will also be open Friday through Sunday.

The casino has approximately 34,000 square feet of space to cater for events. Large corporate meetings and weddings still draw too many people to have a safe environment. Indoor gatherings will be limited.

MGM Springfield announced the casino’s reopening after months of closure in July. The shutdown was after Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker made an emergency order to close all non-essential businesses in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

MGM Springfield’s hotel partially opened its first floor in October to M LIfe Reward members and not to the general public. M Life Rewards is a membership with MGM Resorts International that works in a similar way to a supermarket loyalty card. The more money spent, the more rewards you’ll receive.
