A man from Banbury who successfully battled gambling addiction is now preparing for another challenge to raise awareness and help others.
Calvin Findlay will partake in a 48-hour fast in which he drinks only water.
He does it to raise money for the Gambling With Lives charity.
"As many people know, I've struggled with gambling addiction for many years, but with the great support I've had, I'm currently just over 28 months free," he said.
"This is going to be a very difficult challenge for me as those who know me know that I am a great eater – my gut proves it."
The challenge will take place on Friday, April 2nd from 12 noon to Sunday, April 4th from 12 noon.
"Unfortunately there are a lot of mostly young men who have committed suicide because of their gambling addiction, so I decided to raise funds for a great charity, Gambling With Lives," added Calvin.
They support those affected by gambling-related suicide and raise awareness of the dangerous effects of gambling on mental health and the risk of suicide.
